Winter Challenge 2018

In July, RioBotz went to São Caetano do Sul, São Paulo - Brazil for the 14th Winter Challenge, the largest robot competition in South America. The event included categories such as sumo, hockey, combat (1lb through 60lb), line follower, soccer and trekking.
Our big arena robot included Touro Feather (Featherweight - 30lb) and Touro Junior (Hobbyweight - 12 pounds); the insects: Mini Puma, Mini Maloney, Mini Touro, Micro Maloney and Micro Touro. Besides the combat robots, we participated in 3kg-sumo with our C3 and C3+ robots, line follower with Papacuras, as well as in the Trekking category.
After three days competing, Mini Puma and Mini Maloney won the first and second places among the Beetleweights. In addition to the trophies, we also took home a lot of learning and knowledge.

Durante o primeiro final de semana do mês de julho, a RioBotz foi até São Caetano do Sul participar da 14ª edição do Winter Challenge, maior competição de robôs da América Latina. O evento contava com as categorias sumô, hockey, combate (arena grande e pequena), seguidor de linha, futebol e trekking.
A equipe levou os robôs Touro Feather (13,6kg - Featherweight) e Touro Junior (5,44kg - hobbyweight); e os insetos Mini Puma, Mini Touro, Mini Maloney, Mini Snail, Micro Maloney e Micro Touro. Além dos de combate, participamos do sumô 3kg com o C3 e C3+, do seguidor de linha com o Papacuras e, pela primeira vez, inscrevemos um robô na categoria Trekking.
Depois de três dias de competição, conquistamos o primeiro e segundo lugares na categoria Beetleweight, com os robôs Mini Puma e Mini Maloney, respectivamente. Voltamos pra casa com muito aprendizado e experiência pra equipe, além das premiações.
